I wanted to share with you today the layout I made for the Close To My Heart Convention layout contest, and I am happy to report that I was chosen one of the ten winners! I was ecstatic to be invited up on stage during the awards banquet and received a fabulous prize of $100 in Close To My Heart products. This was my first year attending the convention and I had a blast. However, winning the contest was not my only accomplishment. I also completed my first 5k. The course was amazing as we ran through Disneyland Park and it benefitted Operation Smile. I really could go on and on about how wonderful the convention was and how much fun I had. Attending convention is one of the many benefits of being a Close To My Heart consultant.
Now, more about this layout… (You can click on the picture to view more detail and the amazing pictures of the Apostle Islands Ice Caves.) The embossed designs were created with my Cricut Explore, and I used an embossing marker to write the lines rather than cut. I then heat embossed with silver embossing powder. If you have a Cricut Explore, then you know what I mean. If you have a Cricut Explore and don’t know what I mean, please contact me and I will help you with this awesome feature of the software. If you don’t have a Cricut Explore, it’s really worth the investment. The embossed designs are from out Artbooking cartridge. Please note, with the exception of the Glacier (light blue) cardstock, all other paper used in this layout is retiring at the end of August. I honestly will be sad to see the Outdoor Denim (dark blue) go, as it is my favorite color, but as I mentioned in my last post, there are some amazing new colors coming. If you need to stock up on cardstock, now is the time to do it.
Thanks again for visiting and you’ll hear from me again on the 1st for the Rose Blossom Stamp of the Month blog hop.
